Commission Fiona

When you commission Fiona to create a custom artwork, you embark on a collaborative journey that goes beyond simply purchasing a painting. Fiona takes the time to understand your vision, preferences, and the emotions you want the artwork to evoke.

Through thoughtful conversations and exchange of ideas, she creates an artwork that holds a special meaning, reflecting your individuality and becoming a cherished part of your home.

Fiona regularly undertakes commissions for seascapes, beloved pets and animals, and motorsport.

How it works

The Process

  • Decide what subject you would like painting. Get in touch with me via the Commission Enquiry Form below or email here.
  • I will need at least one high quality reference photo to base your painting on. I will help you choose the best photo and size for your chosen subject. I will then provide you with a quote that will be valid for 30 days. I will then work with you to design the perfect work of art that meets your unique space.
  • I will give you a date for your commission booking and ask for a 50% non refundable booking fee to secure your commission space, with the full balance due on completion.
  • I will then create your painting using the finest, lightfast archival professional artists materials.
  • When your painting is complete, I will send you a photo by email to approve. I will then request the full balance due. Once your payment has been received, your painting will be professionally mounted and carefully packaged prior shipping via Royal Mail tracked and signed for.

Commissions - FAQs

What will I receive:

  • Your painting created with the finest quality lightfast, archival professional artist materials to ensure your painting lasts for decades to come
  • Watercolour and mixed media paintings will arrive professionally mounted ready for framing. Acrylic paintings on Canvas will arrive ready to hang, no framing required.
  • Signed Certificate of Authenticity
  • Artwork Care Guide

How long will a commission take:

I cannot give an exact timescale as it depends on the length of my waitlist when you book and the medium. Leading up to Christmas and Valentines I am very busy, so you need to book well in advance. If you have a particular date in mind, please contact me by email asap to make sure I can meet your required deadline.

If you need an urgent commission, I will do my best to accommodate you. If it is too late for a commission, Fiona Dillon Art Gift Cards are extremely popular and arrive to the recipient by email.

What photos do you need?

I can only paint as well as the reference photos provided. I need at least one high quality photo of your chosen subject. If the commission is a beloved pet or animal, I need an up close photo focused on the image you would like me to paint and then a few others so I can get a feel of the personality, eyes, colour and fur texture of the animal. The better resolution, the better the painting.

Copyright and reproduction:

As the artist, Fiona Dillon retains all copyrights to works of art. If you wish to reproduce her painting, you must obtain her written permission.

Will my painting appear on your website and social media?

Highly likely! BUT if the painting is a gift, please let me know and I will not show it on my website or social media until the gift has been delivered. Once the gift has been delivered, it is highly likely that I will add the painting to my website gallery. I will also share it on social media so everyone can see what I has been working on!
